A number of irregular pits and quarries, now filled with water and used as ponds, are visible on aerial photographs as earthworks east of Bratton Fleming Barrows. They are depicted but not annotated on the first edition Ordnance Survey map of 1889, suggesting they were abandoned prior to this date, and most likely date to the post medieval period. Several other quarries are visible in the area, and were most likely used to extract stone for nearby field boundaries. Other details: Monument Number 1488824.
