Full description

One of a group of over 70 hut circles with enclosures. Hut 33; pebble, 500mm by 300mm by 230mm.

(17/07/1992) Hut in Standon Down settlement. At SX 55098246. Terraced into hillslope. Internal diameter measures 6.5m. Single orthostatic wall 1.8m wide, 1.1m high. North-facing doorway defined by upright slabs.
An oval structure 2.5m long by 2.2m wide with a 1.1m wide and 0.4m high rubble wall is built into the eastern part. May be a later shepherd's hut or a contemporary partition. The 1901 excavation recovered a large river pebble.
