Summary

There was a pub on this site as early as the 17th century, according to documentary references. The White Horse burnt down in the later 19th century and The Cawsand Beacon Inn was built in its place. Closed in the 1980s and is now a private house.

The late 19th century historic map shows the White Horse Public House at this location.

The early 20th century map shows the rebuilt building, also marked as public house.

The Cawsand Beacon was a Victorian pub that closed in the 1980s. This pub was built on the site of the earlier White Horse which burnt down in the second half of the 19th century. It is now used as a private house.
