Summary

Butterwell. Probably c18, maybe earlier. Built of roughly-shaped blocks of granite the butterwell stands approximately 1.20m high and is square in plan.3 sides are enclosed and it is roofed with a single slab of granite. It is open on the north-east side. It is built over a shallow circular well. There is no trace of any shelves inside or a door; a stone slab is rested across the front (doe).
