Full description
Department of Environment, 1986, Swimbridge, 122 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV85764.
Wrimstone farmhouse. 17C, remodelled in 19C. Rendered stone rubble and cob. Hipped slate roof. Rubble stack with brick shaft. Brick stack and truncated stack. Probably originally 3 room cross passage plan with probably an outbuilding at the lower end which in the early to mid 19C was converted to form additional room and staircase. Two storeys. Six window range. 19C/20C fenestration. Two gabled slated porches with crested ridge tiles. Six panelled inner door. Chamfered beams with run-out stops to rooms to each side of cross passage. Dairy fittings intact. Some early joinery survives to room to left of cross passage. 18C/19C roof structure with 20C roof superimposed; no signs of smoke-blackening.
