Full description

Worth, R. H., 1890, 12th Report of the Barrow Committee, 52 52 (Article in Serial). SDV346007.

Mentioned by Worth: 'To the eastward of the Giant's Basin, are two stones which stand parallel to each other, and resemble the two longer sides of a kistvaen, but whether they ever formed part of such it is impossible to discover'.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1979, SX56NE137 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV230625.

(17/04/1979) Nothing to fit this description exists to the east of Giant's Basin. Worth could, however, have meant it to apply to the probable cist on the west side of the Giant's Basin (SX 56 NE 44 / sx56ne/77/1), but the descriptions do not tally closely.
(13/08/1979) Both this site and SX 56 NE 44 are recorded in the same article by Worth, which suggests that they are separate. There are two stones here but at SX 56 NE 44 a large stone resting on three smaller ones.

Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, 1985, Aerial Photograph Project (Dartmoor) - Dartmoor Pre-NMP (Cartographic). SDV319854.

Not visible on 1946 Royal Air Force vertical aerial photographs.
