Vis=-/11/1997 (dyer) leawood mill and mill house. Listed buildings. Mid c19. Stone rubble; slate roof. Mill ground corn + animal feed. Mill stones + some drive machinery survive (worksheet).

Leawood mill. Mill and mill house. Circa mid c19. Local stone rubble walls. Gable ended slate roof.2 rubble stacks, one is axial between the house and the mill, the other is at the gable end of the mill building. L-shaped plan with house projecting to the front and mill building in wing to the right with its wheel originally on its rear wall. The house is double depth with probably 2 rooms originally and gable end entrance into small lobby.2 storeys with attic. The house has a regular gabled 2-window front of c19 small-paned casements. To the left on the ground floor is c20 part-glazed door. At the centre of the gable is a blocked 2nd floor window. All openings have granite lintels. The inner face of the mill has a door to the left with a window to its right and above of 3-light c19 casements. On the rear elevation only the axle of the mill wheel survives. Interior: some of the stone drive machinery survives with wooden edges to the wheels.2 stones are preserved of which according to the present occupant one was used for grinding corn and one for animal feed (doe).
