Dittisham Mills was advertised for sale in 1779. In 1994 it had a large pitchback waterwheel of about 26 feet diameter by 4 feet wide with ring gear on the inside face. The spur drive is at foot of wheel. The wheel was fed by a brick and concrete launder hard by the lane leading to Dittisham village. The buildings are of random stone with slate roofs.
