Full description

Anderson, I. K., 1906, 11th Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 106, Hut 25 (Article in Serial). SDV337055.

One of a group of about 94 hut circles at Watern Oke. Hut 25; a very good circle. Diameters 17 feet and 10 feet. Deep and conical with earth floor unpaved. Entrance at south many pieces of spar and quartz, also burnt stones and flint piece.

(1993) SX56448354 Hut circle terraced into the hillslope. Simple plan and rubble bank type. Interior measures 3m in diameter and is defined by a 1.1m wide wall standing up to 0.8m high. Doorway faces south-east and is clearly defined by facing slabs. Soil has accumulated against the northern outside wall of the building. Excavations by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1905 revealed an unpaved earth floor, many pieces of spar, quartz, burnt stones and a flint.
