Full description
Department of Environment, 1978, Totnes, 76 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV342722.
Number 78 and Number 80 High Street (south side). Early 19th century refronting of an older building, now in 2 occupations. 3 storeys. 2 windows. Welsh slate roof with rendered stacks. Timber-framed, slate-hung front with coved eaves cornice. Masonry party walls with moulded corbels of former first floor jetty. Modern 4 light casement windows to first and second floors. Formerly with early 19th century double shop front with pilasters carrying entablature; Number 78 retains the original shop window with large panes; Number 80 has a modern recessed shopfront. Central doorway retains panelled reveals.
