Full description

Anderson, I. K., 1906, 11th Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 101-113 (Article in Serial). SDV337055.

One of a group of about 94 hut circles at Watern Oke. Hut 36; measures 6m by 2.13m. Certainly a habitation, but very rough, more like a quarry than anything else. No entrance, fireplace of considerable extent at the north; many cooking stones found and also a piece of flint. Probably this was a large cooking chamber.

Interior oval in plan, 5m by 2.5m and is defined by 1.5m wide walls standing up to 0.8m high. Doorway is blocked and not visible. A boundary wall leads west from the western edge of this structure.
