Full description
Anderson, I. K., 1906, 11th Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 101-113 (Article in Serial). SDV337055.
One of a group of about 94 hut circles at Watern Oke. Hut 43a (maximum length 3.66m, width 2.75m); rough and irregular, boulder built entrance, signs of fire all over the floor, probably a cookhouse to hut 44.

(1992) Hut circle terraced into the hillslope. Simple plan and coursed stone walls type. Northern wall is defined by earthfast boulders. The interior measures 3.5m in diameter and is defined by a 1m wide wall standing up to 0.4m high. The doorway faces south and is defined by facing stones. Excavations by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1905 revealed traces of fire all over the floor.
