Full description
Department of Environment, 1978, Totnes, 73 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV342722.
Number 54 High Street, (south side). Lloyds bank. Probably circa 1815 refronting of older building. Two and a half storeys. 1 window. Welsh slate roof. Gabled with mid 19th century carved bargeboard and finial. Timber-framed slate hung front with coved cornice over second floor window. First and second floors with architraved sash windows with side lights and glazing bars. Ground floor loggia over pavement carried on wooden Doric columns. Modern bank front retains wooden pilasters of former shop. House doorway with rectangular fanlight and panelled door. Ground floor front room retains moulded dado rail. Lead rainwater head inscribed "a. P. L.1815".
