Summary

Hut Circle '49' of 3.2 metres by 2.8 metres with walls 1.5 metres wide by up to 0.7 metres high at Watern Oke settlement. Boundaries run north and south from this hut. Excavations in 1905 revealed a fireplace in the north-east corner

Anderson, I. K., 1906, 11th Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 101-113 (Article in Serial). SDV337055.

One of a group of about 94 hut circles at Watern Oke. Hut 49; measures 3.7m by 2.3m. Very rough irregular and small, composed of large stones, entrance at south and fireplace at north-east.

(1992) SX 5653 8342 Hut circle terraced into the hillslope. Simple plan and single orthostat wall type. Interior oval in plan, 3.2m by 2.8m and defined by a 1.5m wide wall standing up to 0.7m high. Excavations by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1905, revealed a fire-place in the north-east corner.
