Hut circles '75' and '76' at Watern Oke settlement consists of conjoined rooms. The northern room is 2.7 metres diameter with walls 1.4 metres by up to 0.7 metres high. The southern room is 3.1 metres diameter with walls 1.4 metres wide by 0.8 metres high. Excavations in 1905 revealed rubber stones in the southern room and a doorway facing east leading from it

Full description

Anderson, I. K., 1906, 11th Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 112, huts 75 & 76 (Article in Serial). SDV337055.

Two of a group of hut circles at Watern Oke. Huts 75 (diameter 4.57m) and 76 (diameter 3.66m); contiguous, very difficult to separate as they are linked with large rough stones. Possible entrance was close to the junction on the north-east side of hut 75, in which some large rubber stones were found.

(1992) SX 5690 8338 conjoined hut circle. Consists of two rooms defined by stone and earth walls, terraced into the hillslope. The northern room measures 2.7m in diameter and is defined by a 1.4m wide coursed wall standing up to 0.7m high. The southern room measures 3.1m in diameter and the surrounding coursed wall is 1.4m wide and 0.8m high. Excavations by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1905 revealed rubber stones in the southern room and a doorway facing east leading from the same room.

This monument includes five stone hut circles situated on a gentle south facing slope overlooking the River Tavy and forming part of the large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement at Watern Oke. This hut is a two-roomed structure with the compartments measuring 2.7 metres and 3.1 metres in diameter.
