Earthwork pits of a former post-medieval to 19th century marl pit are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Rasbeer Copse. The two earthworks appear to have originally formed part of a single sub-oval shaped earthwork, approximately 43m in length by 36m in width, which has been bisected by a later field boundary shown here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The eastern half of this marl pit is also partly depicted on this map. The earthworks are located in an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded during this survey.
