Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880s, Ordnance Survey (Cartographic). SDV848.
Site of 'Old Quarry' shown on OS 25" (1880s & 1905) maps as a large irregular shaped area up to 100m wide x up to 85m long on the north side of the stream. Other details: Also on OS 25" (1905) maps.

The estate map of 1814 shows agricultural activity at this location but by 1850 White's Directory refers to Mary Webber as 'Farmer & Lime Burner' at Woodhayne. The lime burning seems to have occurred in the quarry to the south of the stream.
