Full description

Masson Phillips, E. N., 1943, Notes on Some Old Roadside Stones in South West Devon, 155 (Article in Serial). SDV148816.

Milestone, at the southern edge of the Down, at the entrance of a lane which runs in a south-easterly direction, across Plaster Down, and on to Huxworthy Ridge. The stone leans against the western hedge of the lane and spans the gutter. It has been turned round to hide the inscription. A tall rectangular post and on its face bears the inscription which is set diagonally at the top of the stone: 13/miles/to/plymo.
