Summary

Milestone. Late c18-early c19. Granite. Upright slab standing approximately 1.3 metres high. Flat-topped and triangular in section 2 sides are canted forward and inscribed with roman serif numerals. To exon xvi miles to left and to barum xxiv miles to right (doe).

Milestone. Late c18-early c19. Granite. Upright slab standing approximately 1.3 metres high. Flat-topped and triangular in section 2 sides are canted forward and inscribed with roman serif numerals. To exon xvi miles to left and to barum xxiv miles to right (doe).

Jenkinson, T., 2001 - 2006, Exeter to Barnstaple A377 (Report - Survey). SDV344456.

Visited 26th August 2005. Milestone approximately 150 metres south of Bugford Cross, in hedge, very close to road edge on east side. Legend " To/Exon/XVI/Miles/To/Barum/XXIV/Miles/". Reinstated at the roadside by Devon County Council (Tiverton) November 2005. When surveyed this stone was lying prone in the hedge.
