Full description

Department of Environment, 1985, Braunton, 43 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV73918.

Large cottage, formerly 2 cottages, possibly 17th century. Whitewashed rendered cob and rubble. Thatch roof with rubble stack and end stack heightened in brick. Two storeys, late 19th century extension to rear. Three window range of 2-light casements (3 panes each light) and 2 sashes 2 panes over 2 panes to right and similar sash and 4-paned casement to left of 20th century doorway. The sash to left of door was originally the doorway to the end cottage. Old staircase but much altered interior. There is no access to roofspace but 2 original trusses, roughly hewn and slightly curving, appear to survive. Other details: 12/90.
