Department of National Heritage, 19/04/1993, Bideford, 118 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV338459.

House, now club and offices. Mid 19th century. Solid rendered front. Slated roof. Red-brick chimney on left side-wall. 3 storeys; 3-window range with doorway off-centre to left. Raised cement quoins flanking whole front; also the door and window-openings, which have cement voussoirs and keystones. Four panelled door. Canted wooden bay window with moulded top cornice to left of ground and second storeys. Sashes throughout; outer windows to right, and in third storey to left, triple-sashed. All sashes have margin-panes, except for flanking lights in bay and in triple-sashes. Deep, plain, boxed eaves cornice. Interior not inspected.

Early or mid 19th century 3 storey 3 window front. Rusticated window and door surrounds and quoins.

Research suggests that burgage tenements of regular width and depth were laid out extending back from the southern frontage of this portion of the High Street, and were stepped up the hillside. They are presumably medieval in origin, although direct evidence of this has not been found.
