A gravel pit and associated spoil are visible on aerial photographs (p1), on the south side of the A3079. On the other side of the road two more cut features are visible. These are likely to be the remains of quarrying recorded on 1st edition OS historic mapping, and then incorporated into the gravel pit workings in the early 20th century. All of these features have been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.
