Summary

One of a group of over 15 hut circles within prehistoric settlement south of Leeden Tor. This is one of four hut circles which lie to the west of the enclosures and are arranged in a row aligned south-west by north-east.

This is one of four hut circles visible on the 1976 National Monuments Record aerial photographs which are apparently laid out in a row (citing NMR, SX5671/1 (8/4/1976)).

Visited 23/4/1992 (SX56087104) Internal diameter 7.3 metres. Double orthostatic wall 1.8 metres wide, 1.8 metres high. South-facing doorway edged with stone slabs.

Hut Circle '9' is the southern in a line of four free standing huts with diameters between 4.5 metres and 6.9 metres to the south-west of Settlement 'B' at Leeden Tor South with an entrance to the south-east.

Depicted on the modern mapping, which matches the 2015 aerial photography for this area quite well, so is assumed to be fairly accurate.

Site visited on 24th August 1950. One of a group of hut circles and enclosure, south of Leeden Tor. At SX 5608 7104 Hut 'J'. Double walled type diameter 8.5 metres, wall width 1.5 metres, height 0.6 metres. Entrance to south. Much overgrown. Condition good. Interior uneven.
