Vis=30/11/1987 (robinson) site lies just below crest of ridge on gentle ne slope. Coincides with hollow area. W side close to field bank may show as low bank (dprfp).

Cropmarks of levelled ditches, circa 4m in width, are visible on oblique aerial photographs taken in 1984 and 1995, on level ground of a spur, to the south of Well Farm, Woodland. The dark cropmarks form a subrectangular enclosure, circa 50m square, with sub-angular corners and possible entrance-way with short antenna to the southeast. The northern corner of the enclosure is masked by an area of darker cropmarks and is not visible. Its form and proximity to other enclosures identified in this area would suggest a prehistoric or Romano-British date.
