Full description

Department of Environment, 1986, Ilsington, 54 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV302008.

Pair of gatepiers at east entrance to 'Ingsdon School', including the flanking walls. Pair of gate piers, with short flanking walls splayed outwards towards the road. Probably early 19th century. Granite; the gate piers and the piers terminating the flanking walls are of ashlar, while the walls themselves are of rubble. Gate piers are tall and square section, the masonry rusticated with shaped caps surmounted by small finials. Flanking walls have dressed copings slightly rounded on top; they terminate in short square section piers with shaped tops.(
