Full description

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

Visted in 1992. Hut circle at SX 5636 7100 internal diameter 3.0 metres. Coursed wall 1.2 metres wide, 0.4 metres high. East-south-east facing doorway lined with stone slabs leads into annexe with internal diameter 1.5 metres. Attached to a field boundary wall.

Site Visited on 25th August 1950. One of a group of hut circles and enclosures. Hut 'N'. Much despoiled. There appears to be the remains of an ante-chamber on the eastern side, all much overgrown, condition fair. Diameter 3.5 metres, wall width 1.0 metres, height 0.5 metres.
Field Investigation on 4th August 1980. Centred at SX 56437103 is a settlement of twenty-five huts covering 3.1 hectares of a south and east hillslope at about 361 metres O.D. The area
is broken up by erosion runnels and quantities of surface clitter.
