A guide post is marked as 'G.P.' on the First Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch map.

Direction post about 2 metres north of Slade Farm gate. Direction post. 19th Century. Granite. Short square-section post with shaped top. On west side is carved in lettering having serifs to Moreton and on north side to Bridford and Christow.

Site visit 24th September 2003. A sturdy granite pillar (circa 1826), located at Slade Cross, on the grass verge, by a barn, beside a disused black painted post box, on the east side of the road. It's legend of ' To Bridford and Christow, To Moreton, To Bovey' was found to be worn and difficult to read.
