Summary

Large hut circle (around 8.5m diameter) attached to a section of wall leading from the reave to the north-east. One of 20 huts associated with the settlement to the east of Leeden Tor. Partition divides this hut.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950, SX57SE42, Hut B (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV272875.

(28/0/1950) One of a group of four hut circles on Leeden Tor. SX 5640 7157 Hut 'B'. Large double walled diameter 9.5 metres, wall width 1.0 metres, height 0.4 metres, much pillaged at south-east extreme. Entrance appears to be to the south, where a heap of stones is now collected. Condition good.

(17/07/1980) Centred at SX 56457164 on the southeast slope of Leeden Tor, at about 370 metres OD., is a settlement, spread over 1.8 hectares. More than
half of the area is covered with erosion runnels and surface clitter, which thins towards the east
and south. A total of twenty huts are identifiable.

Visited in 1992. Stone hut circle attached to a boundary wall leading from a reave situated on a gentle east-facing slope of Leeden Tor. Terraced into the hillslope and is of the simple plan and double orthostat walling type. The interior measures 8.4 metres in diameter and is defined by a 2.5 metres wide wall standing up to 0.7 metres high. A partition, 1.0 metres wide and 0.3 metres high, denotes a northern room measuring 5 metres long by 2.6 metres. The doorway faces south-south-west.

Hut Circle '1' of 7.8 metres diameter on the south-west side of the settlement at Leeden Tor East. It has an internal division and is attached to the reave to the north-east by a short section of walling. The entrance is to the south-east.

This monument includes four enclosures, 16 stone hut circles and a number of rubble walls arranged within an enclosing boundary and forming an enclosed stone hut circle settlement, situated on a gentle east-facing slope of Leeden Tor overlooking the valley of the River Meavy.
