Cropmarks of a ditch up to circa 3m wide are visible on aerial photographs of 1987 on the the east-facing slopes overlooking the combe of a tributary to the River Teign at Netherton. The cropmarks define an oval enclosure circa 44 to 36m across. A break circa 9m wide in the cropmark defining northern edge of the enclosure might mark an entrance to the interior of the enclosure. The enclosure is interpreted as probably of later prehistoric to Roman date.
Many of the aerial photographs consulted are copies of DAPs held by the Historic England Archive. These have been recorded here as separate sources as there is a possibility that variations in processing could result in images on which archaeological features show differently than on the original images.
