Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950, SX57SE27, 28/9/1950 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV272811.

One of a group of seven hut circles. Hut B (SX5721 7299). Double walled type, diameter 4.0 metres, wall width 1.0 metres, height 0.4 metres. Small, composed of turf covered stones; condition fair. Entrance appears to be on south side. This circle touches hut circle C.

Stone hut circle forming part of a prehistoric settlement 900 metres west of Devil's Bridge. Diameter measures 3.5 metres by 3 metres. Single orthostat wall 1.5 metres wide, 0.5 metres high. Orientated at 40 degrees. Conjoined with Hut 152130 (MDV3752). Door faces 200 degrees.

Depicted on the modern mapping, which matches recent (2010 and 2015) aerial photographs, so is assumed to be fairly accurate.

Hut at SX 57217299 has a probable drill hole 5 centimetres across and 4 centimetres deep on largest stone of inner north face (citing Ordnance Survey Field Investigators Comments, 16/6/1980).
