Vis=-/12/1989 (child) owner of manley farm says that there is a date of 1882 recorded for the house. The outbuildings would look contemporary. Proposed conversion of redundant agricultural barns into dwellings have been submitted (child).

Area comprising east manley, manley and manley dairy + cottages is marked at 'east manley' on 1803 surveyor's draft. 'east manley house' recorded as ta 758, c.1842, comprising house, homestead + orchard at ss98901182. Whole area named 'east manley' on 1860 1" map. On 1890 6" os map 'east manley house' becomes 'west manley', with 'west manley dairy' and cottages at ss98601193, and remains so until 1933. On 1976 1:25000 os map, the west manleys change to manley, manley dairy and cottages (butler).
