Winscott is 'Winescota' in Domesday, Wynscote in 1330.

Deserted settlement known as Winscott Barton, Worksheet gives full details and map. Tenement name is 'Winscott Barton' - no 600 - dung pit, 601 - house and front, 602 - drying yard and houses, 603 - houses and cowshed, 604 - garden, 605 - garden, 606 - road. No sign of settlement on modern 6" OS (1963) map.
