26. Near parkwood. G3. Built into the wall opposite the drive entrance to parkwood house, about 1 1/2km. Ne of tavistock, on the present main road from okehampton is a stone tablet, with moulded edges, bearing the following incised inscription: this road was made by public subscription in a period of great distress.1817. Parkwood is now newton house, adjacent to kelly college.(masson phillips).

26. Near Parkwood. G3. Wall tablet. Built into the wall opposite the drive entrance to Parkwood House, about 1.5 kilometres north-east of Tavistock, on the present main road from Okehampton is a stone tablet, with moulded edges, bearing the following incised inscription 'This road was made by public subscription in a period of great distress.1817'. Parkwood is now Newton House, adjacent to Kelly College.
