A dark circular and sometimes raised cropmark is visible on aerial photographs taken between 1984 and 2006. It may have formed over a buried ditch, circa 1 metre in width, and is 12 metres in diameter. It is sited on low lying land but on a slight south-east facing slope overlooking the Axe Estuary. This feature is interpreted as the remains of a buried ditch around a prehistoric barrow, in common with others in the vicinity (MDV38882 and MDV38883), and another to the west identified through this survey (MDV106112).
