Full description

North Devon District Council Rescue Archaeology Unit, 1991, North Devon Archaeological Site Code Index, Site Code ND19 (Report - non-specific). SDV63429.

There appears to be confusion over the sites of trenches dug by NDRAU at Pill Farm, Little Pill and/or Portmore Farm in the 1980s. Possibly ND10 was at Little Pill in 1986 (although the NGR given is wrong) and ND19 at Portmore (the NGR is for Portmore but it is listed as Pill Farm).

Mills, A., 1996, Pill Farm or Portmore? (Personal Comment). SDV79502.

The grid reference given above is for Portmore Farm. However, locals report that pottery was found in trenching at Pill Farm, SS556316.

Watts, S., 24/01/2014, Pill Farm or Portmore Farm (Personal Comment). SDV355875.

Trial trenching produced medieval pottery. [The site is given at Pill Farm although the grid reference is for Portmore Farm and the area given as Landkey].]
