Hellis, J., 10/02/1989, Pillbox at Hemborough Post (Ground Photograph). SDV356976.

Wills, H., 1985, Wills, H. 1985 Pillboxes, 74 (Monograph). SDV336210.

Polygonal concrete pillbox, facing south, listed by Wills.

Hellis, J., 1990, List of Defensive Sites (Un-published). SDV99101.

Pillbox of type 29, 'wavy' edge roof, common to other pillboxes in the area.

Freeman, R., 1995, Hemborough Post Pillbox (Worksheet). SDV356975.

Typical pillbox, clearly built to command the road from Dartmouth . It is on slightly higher ground than the road and has a good view over it.

Clamp, A. L., 1995, Pillbox at Hemborough Cross (Worksheet). SDV356974.

Pillbox on inside of road hedge at Hemborough cross facing main road from Dartmouth. Well preserved concrete construction on high side of field close to public house at Hemborough Cross.

Jury, R., 1996, Hemborough Post Pillbox (Worksheet). SDV356973.

Pillbox built on a raised elevation in a corner of a field. A hedge now surrounds the principal field of fire, ie. the road from the west. From the siting it would appear to cover a road block on a sharp corner on the Dartmouth Road at the Sportsman's Arms. The purpose would be to control access to Dartmouth and Dittisham.

Ford, M.J., 1998, Hemborough Crossroad Pillbox (Worksheet). SDV357262.

Concrete pillbox only visible from the road if coming from Dartmouth direction. Overgrown at rear but in nice conditon.

Ordnance Survey, 2014, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV355681.
