Summary

Shippon immediately north east of Addislade farmhouse, Dean Prior. Probably dates to the 18th century, stone rubble construction with corrugated iron roof, gabled at ends. Appears to have been substantially extended in size.

Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Building is shown on the Tithe Map; 845 on the apportionment 'House and Courtlage', Addishlade Estate.

Narrow shippon depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map (approximately 1880s in date).

Current building appears at least twice the size of the original shippon, having been extended to the north.

Shippon with loft above dating to approximately 18th century. Stone rubble construction with granite quoins and doorway arches. Corrugated iron sheet roof with gabled ends. Two storeys. Ground floor, shippon doors with slightly cambered granite arches and small windows with granite lintels. Hay loft doorway above. Included for group value. Other details: LB UID: 99255.
