Higher dean (formerly listed as house 40 yards east north east of clapper cottage).
House. Circa mid to late-17th century. Whitewashed stone rubble. Low pitched asbestos sheet roof with gabled ends. Rendered end stacks. Lateral front stack truncated.
Three room and through passage plan with large lateral stack on front of hall and gable end stacks heating inner room and kitchen. Inner room originally unheated and stack later insertion. Partition to passage removed and passage now part of lower room. Circa 19th century two storey one bay addition at lower end. Later outshut at rear. Two storeys. Three window range and one window addition to left. 19th century three-light casements with horizontal glazing bars. Through passage doorway to left of stack with slated hood, doorway partly blocked.
Interior: hall has chamfered cross beam and chamfered joists with run-out stops. Lateral hall fireplace blocked and partition to inner room boarded over. Partition to lower side of passage removed. Roof structure and first floor not inspected.
