Full description
Guy, J., 1990, List of Coastal Batteries (Un-published). SDV15882.
Remains of coastal battery at Salcombe. Armed with 2 x 4" guns.

Salcombe was protected by a battery of two 4.5" guns and searchlights manned by 329 battery.

Site visited on 23rd March 1996. Four 4.5 inch guns, manned by 329 Coastal Battery were said to have been located at Salcombe. The position itself is in private grounds, but substantial remains can be seen. There has been some coastal erosion.
