Summary

Two post medieval boundary stones above the Black-a-Ven Brook one measuring 1.7 metres high and 0.4 metres thick, the smaller is 0.7 metres high, 0.4 metres wide and 0.2 metres thick. Depicted on historic maps.

Boundary stone 'c' in a line of stones marking the boundary between Okehampton Hamlets and Dartmoor Forest stretching from Sandy Ford to Cullever Steps. Each is inscribed 'OPB' on at least one face. Many of these stones are paired with a small slab at the foot of a tall pillar which was presumably a more visible replacement.

(02/08/1994) SX 5875 8915. Two boundary stones located on the crest of the steep east facing slope above the Black-a-Ven Brook 700m east-south-east of High Willhays. The stones mark the boundary of Okehampton Hamlets and Dartmoor Forest parishes. The larger of the stones is square sectioned, drill split granite block 1.7m high and 0.4m thick. The letters OP above a B are inscribed 0.15m high in the north-west face. The smaller stone, a rough moorland slab, lies 1.5m to the west and measures 0.7m high, 0.4m wide and 0.2m thick. The letter B is inscribed 0.2m high in the northern face.
