Site visit 17th July 2004. Milestone on B3193 at Rixy Park Corner, mounted on concrete base on grass verge on north side of road. Inscribed 'To/Chud/Leigh/2/Miles/To/Exon/12' on the left hand side and 'To/Newton/3/Miles/To/Totnes/11' on the right. The stone is generally in good condition. It was reset on a concrete base by Devon County Council after a road traffic collision in 2004. The stone now stands 0.86 metres above ground but is still at risk from vibration, impact and mud covering. One of number of sturdy granite milestones erected by the Totnes and Bridgetown Pomeroy Turnpike Trust circa 1824-1832.

Milestone. Probably 1824, the date of the turnpike between Bellamarsh and Newcross. Granite. A granite post with a roughly rounded head inscribed "To Chudleigh 2 miles, To Newton 4 miles". Inscription reversed on the Chudleigh side.
