A triple ditched polygonal enclosure of probable later prehistoric to Roman date was visible on aerial photographs as a cropmark on the south-facing slopes overlooking the Culm Valley, north of Heazille Farmhouse. The individual linear cropmarks are less than 2 metres broad and spaced between 4 and 8 metres apart. Only the northern edge of the enclosure was visible, the southern extent obscured by the line of a road and the cropmarks were not observed extending into the field to the south of the road. The central enclosed area is rhomboidal or parallelogrammatic in shape, measuring circa 33 metres long north-east to south-west.
