George Teign Barton. The probable site of the Domesday manor of Teigna, some descents until 1428 are given.

George Teign Barton was mentioned as 'Teigna' in 1086, 'Tegne Georg' in 1281, 'Teyng S. Georgii' in 1283 & 'Georgis-tenge' in 1438. Named after a chapelry at the site dedicated to St George.
