Full description
Miller, A., Untitled Source (Interpretation). SDV37281.
Parts of a single ditched curvilinear enclosure (c 60m by 40m) nw of south moor farm. First recorded by aerial reconnaissance in 1985 (dap). Vis=17/5/1991 (simpson) the site lies on a fairly steep n facing slope just below the top of the hill. Both of the ditches visible on the ap curve around to meet a prominent mound on the ground, presumably natural. The landscape is undulating. No other earthworks were visible (dprfp). Vis=rapid examination of ap suggests presence of a possible curvilinear enclosure c.400m wnw of south moor (miller).

Fragments of a ditched enclosure of uncertain date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (p1). The enclosure is 45m across and appears to have rectilinear and curvilinear elements. It lies just off the brow of a hill and faces north-west. A prehistoric origin is possible. The site was digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme.
