Building marked as Seven Stars Inn.
Waterhouse, R. E., 1991, The Church Houses of South Devon: an archaeological survey, 85-86 (Report - Survey). SDV7736.
Seven Stars Cottage built into bank, butting churchyard on its east side and fronting lane to south. Aligned east/west, probably consists of three room ground plan. Rendered, so structural details such as blockings indiscernible. Two doors onto road on south side. Western room probably solar, with small chimney stack and kitchen, unusually in centre, with massive buttressed stack. Possibly eastern annex added from this point on two floors. Now indistinguishable from rest. Chimney stack on east gable. Several outshots at rear. Constructed of Devonian mudstone rubble. Building now totally rendered. Roof at present slated, originally thatched in C19. Architectural features include a buttressed kitchen chimney stack. Frontal projection between doors toward west end of south side. Appears to be crude bay window on ground and first floor. Old buttress to west of this supporting bulge. Both could form remains of external timber stair. Weathering at west end for possible first floor entry from churchyard. Was the Seven Stars Inn in C19.
Ordnance Survey, 2026, Mastermap 2026 (Cartographic). SDV366713.
Now three cottages, Clematis Cottage, Seven Stars Cottage and Church Cottage.
