Department of Environment, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV334698.

Nutcombe cottage. Cottage. Circa 1700. Red brick on stone plinth, the brick laid mostly in flemish bond; bitumen-painted slate roof, gabled at ends; end stacks with brick shafts. Plan: single depth 2 room plan with a central entrance; the cottage situated to the south west of nutcombe manor. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3 window front with a plank front door to left of centre with strap hinges and a flat porch canopy carried on timber posts.3 first floor 3-light c18 casements with square leaded panes, 2 ground floor casements probably c20 copies. Interior: not inspected. Important to the setting of nutcombe manor and an example of early brick construction in the region (doe).
