Full description

COWLING + WORTH, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV226308.

One hut circle (diam 2.74m) discovered while cutting a road in 1906 in a field known as "the croft", for the newly built house "the hermitage". Near centre a rough earthen ware pot (diam 0.229m) was found in which was a cooking stone. The pot was of a size that its contents would be about three quarts. Also small piece of flint found (cowling + worth).

A probable hut circle or barrow found in a field known as 'The Croft' close to the Rectory. A hollow in its centre contained charcoal, pieces of vessels and several small pieces of flint. (1)
A hut circle, nine feet in diameter was found on ground adjoining the Vicarage at Petertavy in 1905; now occupied by a house known as the 'Hermitage'. It was excavated and a red earthenware pot containing a cooking stone was found. (2)
The house known as "The Hermitage" is centred at SX 51447744. (3)
