When Hartland Abbey was dissolved, the list of Abbey Farms granted to William Abbot in 1546 included one at Philham.

When Hartland Abbey was dissolved, the list of abbey farms granted to William Abbot in 1546 included one at Philham. Suggested that Philham Farm was one of 12 granted to the 12 canons of the abbey before 1086.
