Summary
When Hartland Abbey was dissolved, the list of abbey farms granted to william Abbot in 1546 included one at Stoke. The abbey's Royal Charter of 1189 shows that Geoffrey de Dinan gave the new canons at Hartland the old manor of Stoke St. Nectan.

When hartland abbey (ss22sw/01) was dissolved, the list of abbey farms granted to william abbot in 1546 included one at stoke. The abbey's royal charter of 1189 shows that geoffrey de dinan gave the new canons at hartland the old manor of stoke st. Nectan, which had been held by twelve secular canons of st. Nectans monastery (ss22sw/03) in 1086 (pearce).
