HER Number:MDV41880
Name:Drove road near Dousland Plantation, Walkhampton

Summary

One of the boundary clauses of the 1031 meavy charter refers to the 'highway of the dwellers of buckland'. The charter's geography shows this to be more or less the modern b3212 which runs parallel to the walkhampton/meavey parish boundary. Pearce regards this as a drove road, and suggests that the 'enbarr' inscribed stone (see sx46ne/554) originally stood beside this droveway (pearce).
